Christmas in Peru
Finally, I had a very smooth and easy trip to Iquitos. So far, there just aren´t words to describe how it has been. I´ve stayed in the city the entire time, but am going to venture out over the next couple of days a little more. This afternoon or tomorrow we´re probably going to visit the Butterfly Farm. Supposedly there´s a LOT more than butterflys (or I doubt I´d go). It´s a refuge for all kinds of animals -- jaguars, manatees, free-roaming monkeys, anteaters, etc. I also hope we have some time to visit a snake farm or one of the Indian villages.
This morning I´m off to check with the airline about changing my flight. My current reservation calls for me to return to Lima in 2 days and then back home on an overnight flight on the 30th. Now I think I´ll stay 2-3 more days here. Supposedly New Year´s Eve is one heck of celebration! Sicne I don´t have to be back at work until the 3rd, I think I can work this one out as long as the airlines cooperate.
Right now, though, I need some morning coffee. Hasta luego.
